Birchbox Reveiw: June 2014

This was my first time purchasing a beauty box- you may be thinking why did you chose the birchbox when there are so many other beauty boxes available?

The reason why and I'm not going to lie was because of the beauty blender! I know it was uncertain whether or not i would receive the beauty blender but i decided to order the box and after days of hoping and wishing that i get the beauty blender in my box, it had arrived...

This months box was based on the World Cup and contained items based on this. When i received my package i must say I was so excited to see if a beauty blender was in my box.
The contents in my box were a beauty blender, mini opi nail polish, the balm 'how bout them apples' cheek and lip cream (sample size), caudalie perfecting fluid, noabay body radiance lotion and a really cute keychain.

and finally-

I was literally really pleased with my box, I had a beauty blender worth £26 in a £12.95 box. Which girl wouldn't be happy? This blender has been the most talked about beauty tool that is meant to give you that dewy and flawless look and i really think it does the job.

Overall i am please with the box, i think i did get a good range and selection for what i had paid for.
Would i buy another box from birchbox?- well i have to say it depends on the content selection of the box if it is something that appeals to me then i definitely will.
Let me know whether you bought the birch box this month and what items you received. Also comment below on who you think will win the World Cup.

Thanks for reading my blog.

Face Mapping

The first step to achieve clear skin is to know what areas of your face you are getting spots or acne.
Did you know your face is an indication to how your body is in the inside?
Well if you didn't I will be telling you today what each area of your face is an indication for. After learning about face mapping I would recommend for you to do further research in how you can prevent spots on a certain area.

Area 1 and 2: This area represents the Digestive System, if you have high amounts of fats in your diet you would be more likely to breakout in this area. If this is the cause for you I recommend drinking lots of water (8 glasses) and green tea. However we cant just blame your diet for this their are also other factors such as hygiene such as if you have a fringe sometimes if you don't wash your hair enough or dirty caps or hats etc.

Area 3: The area between your eyebrows represents the Liver. If you have spots in this area it can be due to consuming too much dairy or alcohol.

Area 4,5,7 and 8: This area represents the Kidneys. If you tend to have spots in these areas  it could be due to dehydration. Remember to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day your body will thank you and the results would be visible!

Area 9 and 10: The Respiratory System. You would be most likely to break out in these areas if you have allergies or you are a smoker. Try to go out out for a walk as you would be breathing in fresh air which would help your skin.
Getting spots on your cheek may also be because of too much meat, dairy and sugary foods and also makeup brushes which a lot of people don't think about remember to wash your makeup brushes. Some people say to wash your brushes once a month is fine but i like to do it every fortnight just to be on the safe side.

Area 6: The Heart . This could be due to lack of protein and vitamin B and nutrients, having more fruits, vegetables, nuts etc. may just be the solution.

Area 11 and 12: Hormones. Now for many women especially teenage girls it would be common to get a few spots in these areas here and now. This could be because of stress or an imbalance of hormones. You may tend to get spots here during you periods too.

Area 13: Stomach. If you tend to have a lot of rich and heavy foods in your diet you may tend to get spots in the chin area. Simply having much healthier meals and drinking glasses of water may prevent this.

Now if you are a teenager you don't need to worry about getting spots it's very normal especially on your nose, T-zone (between eyebrows) and across your cheek. However we can try an prevent this by making sure we eat the right kinds of foods and stay hydrated. Also exercising would give your skin that glowing effect.

I will also be posting products that I use when my skin does break out soon. So don't forget to keep checking my blog and feel free to comment, I would love to hear what you have got to say :)

Clothes Show Live 2013 Birmingham: Reveiw

The Clothes Show Live is held every year in December at the NEC in Birmingham. This year I was lucky enough to go! *yay* as I am studying Textiles and Fashion as an A Level at College. Honestly when I found out we were going I was as excited as I’ve heard pretty good things about the event so i couldn't wait to go. We went on the Last day of the event which was Tuesday the 12th and let’s just say the journey there was very tiring, we went on a couch and I think it was about 2hours and a half to get there so if you sum it up we spent 5hours sat in a coach :( .

Anyway, inside the NEC there is this really BIG room filled with many, many stalls and a mini catwalk for students to show off their designs. We went to the beauty department first which was basically full of many stalls of famous makeup brands such as Bare Minerals, Rimmel, So Susan, Jelly Pong Pont, W7, Smooch, Barry M etc.
Now when you think about brands like this you’d be pretty surprised about the prices, I knew they were cheap but I didn't know that I could get some amazing makeup items at such low prices. ( I do think this was because we went on the last day as a lot of stalls had further reduced their prices *hooray!!*)

Continuing on,  the items that I had purchased where from So Susan, Bare Minerals, Jelly Pong Pong, Smooch, W7, Parfum Manifique, Company, Cosmopolitan and Elle.To be honest I haven’t heard of some of the brands so I thought it would be cool to try out these items and see how good they are. Although Barry M, Models Own did had a good offer going on I didn't feel the need to buy it as it mainly consisted of nail polishes and I didn't need any at the moment. Surprisingly Rimmel weren't selling any products they just had testers out so I’m not sure if they had sold out or not but they were doing makeovers at a fair price.
Bare Minerals had this take my by surprise goody bag which was £18 then £5 then to £2, I couldn't believe it that I had got this for £2 so I purchased two bags. Inside this you got 2 eye shadows, a lip gloss and a makeup bag! OMG such an amazingg deal!!

So Susan and Jelly Pong Pong had a fantastic deal where you get 4 products for £5 there were 2 choices to choose from but i couldn't decide which one to get so just purchased both.Smooch and W7 had a deal going on which was 10 items for £10 with the RRP £80 for all of them.

I also purchased 5 perfumes for a total of £20, making it a total of £4 each. Now to be honest I have never come across the company Parfum Manifque until now, in the bag the had perfumes called Poppy,Bad Romance,Stardust, Fleur Rouge and Secret Flower I checked on their website few days later and noticed i had grabbed myself a pretty good deal as they retail from £28-60

Price? I think it was £33 we had to pay for entry and the fashion show as well as transport which is not bad I guess as the fashion show was the best bit of the whole day.
Also allot of people wonder how much money they should bring so to help you out and to decide for next time i have calculated how much i spent and this was around £55 on my purchases.

I didn't buy any clothes as i felt that i do have far too much or they did not have my size available but if you would like to purchase clothes when you go they do have a wide price range.

Overall, the experience is good not just because i grabbed some pretty amazing bargains but the fashion show also helped and inspired me on new designs that i could be including in my Textile Coursework. However it was a bit disappointing with some stalls and also was hoping for stalls like Sleek, Borjouis,Benefit etc. to come as they have previously come. I do think that the only thing that makes up for the tiring day is the fashion show which we went to at 3pm. Would i be going again? Maybe depends on which stalls would be there.

but now for my favorite bit........THE PICTURES!!
Elles' Goody-bag for £2- Dec and Jan Issue plus OPI Shatter Nail Polish and St. Tropez Everyday Body Moisturiser

The Fashion Show

How good the the So-Susan and Jelly Pong Pong products seem, i'm loving the 8 hour Cheek stain and the Caribbean Sun Bronzer

Cosmo and Companys' Good-bag for £2 also inc. a perfume sample, drink, sweets etc.

Cosmo Body Good-bag was £2 also inc. a drink, free hair dye sample ticket (which i've lost :(   ) etc.

P.s  I'm sorry that the pictures aren't as high standard I had forgot to take my camera so all picture were taken on my Phone and we were seated quite far from the stage.
Disclaimer: I am not being sponsored to write this post, everything purchased is from from my own money.

Product Review: St Ives Apricot Blemish Control Scrub.

I decided to buy this product a over month ago to see if it would do what it says which is ‘fight blemishes!’. I heard a lot of good things about this product and decided to purchase it to see if it actually does do wonders to my skin as we all know that acne is a worldwide problem where it is said that 85% of teenagers suffer from acne!

I purchased the Item at Superdrug for £3.99 although you can buy it in many different stores like Boots or even supermarkets. There are many useful ingredients in this product such as:

Salicylic acid- this helps treating acne as Salicylic acid is able to keep our pores clear by shedding the dead skin cells  (through exfoliating) this means that it would reduces the number of breakouts on the skin and pore blockages.
Apricots- Apricots basically make the skin feel fresher and brightens it up so you get that nice glow.

Anyway every time I use the product I instantly feel that my skin is much softer and brighter. The texture of the product is what is meant to be because after all the product is used for exfoliation so there are going to be little bits of the ingredients this is so that the product can successfully remove the dull and dead skin which could lead to breakouts.

For me the product has helped reduced the number of breakouts. All though I mostly only break out on my cheeks due to allergies I do think this product does help clear it up for me. I use this product about 3 times a week, if you do have sensitive  skin I would say use it at least twice a week. The most important thing about exfoliating it to NEVER exfoliate too hard as this can damage the skin. Don’t go crazy with the scrubbing it’s best to do it gently and also a little goes a long way!!
The actual product

Overall, i would recommend this product as after using it for over a month i have noticed my skin feeling much softer and my breakouts have been reducing. This product does a great job in clearing blemishes and blackheads and for the price you couldn't go wrong. Everyone has different skin types so check first if it is suitable for you eg. If you do have dry skin i doubt that you should use this product exfoliating works best on combination/oily/blemish/acne prone skin.
